How Come Sports’s live match centre works
Come Sports’s live match centre pulls data from official ball-by-ball feeds and updates the fantasy leaderboard within 5 seconds of each ball being bowled. The feed covers all international matches, IPL 2026, and other major franchise tournaments.
The match centre shows the live score, the run rate, the required run rate (for chases), the current batter, the current bowler, and the projected final score. The centre also shows your team’s live points and your live rank in the contest.
The match centre’s projection engine uses historical data and current match state to estimate the final score, and the projection is updated every 10 balls.
Ball-by-ball fantasy point updates
Every ball in a live match generates a fantasy point update for every player in your team. A batsman who hits a 6 generates 6 + 6 (bonus) = 12 fantasy points; a bowler who takes a wicket generates 25 + 8 (bowled) = 33 fantasy points.
The ball-by-ball update also includes milestone bonuses: a batsman who reaches a fifty generates 8 bonus points; a bowler who completes a maiden over generates 4 bonus points.
The captain pick multiplier (2x) and the vice-captain multiplier (1.5x) are applied to the live points, so a captain who hits a 6 generates 24 fantasy points (12 x 2), and a vice-captain generates 18 (12 x 1.5).
Live leaderboard tracking
The live leaderboard shows your current rank in the contest, the number of points behind the leader, the number of points ahead of the next rank, and the projected final rank based on the current scoring rate.
The leaderboard also shows the rank distribution: the number of players within 50 points of you, the number within 100 points, the number within 200 points.
The leaderboard’s projected final rank is the most useful single number in the centre. The projection uses the current scoring rate and the remaining balls to estimate the final rank.
Push notifications for live matches
Come Sports’s push notification system can be configured to alert you when specific events happen in a live match: a wicket falls, a fifty is reached, a century is scored, your captain is dismissed, or your team’s rank changes by 50+ points.
The notifications are configured in the app’s settings under Notifications > Live Matches, and each notification type is independent.
The notifications are throttled to prevent spam: a captain dismissal notification is sent only once per match, even if the captain is dismissed twice.
In-match analytics and projections
The in-match analytics show the batting strike rate, the bowling economy, the required run rate, the projected final score, and the win probability for the chasing team. The analytics are the right input for the in-match strategy.
The win probability model uses historical data and current match state to estimate the probability of each team winning, and the model is the input that drives the captain pick adjustment in contests where late swaps are allowed.
The projected final score is the most useful single number in the analytics. The projection is updated every 10 balls.
Watching the match and tracking your team
The right way to watch a live match and track your team is to use a single screen for both. Come Sports’s match centre is designed for single-screen use: the live score is at the top, your team’s live points and rank are in the middle, and the in-match analytics are at the bottom.
The wrong way is to use two screens: one for the live broadcast and one for the fantasy tracking. The two-screen approach is exhausting because it requires constant attention to both.
For the most important matches (playoffs, finals, marquee clashes), the single-screen approach is supplemented with a secondary notification stream: a friend or family member watching the same match, a Telegram group chat, or a Twitter list of cricket journalists.
How to recover from a bad in-match start
A bad in-match start (your captain dismissed in the first over, your star bowler goes for 20 runs in his first over) is a common experience, and the recovery is the right response. The recovery is to focus on the remaining players, not the dismissed captain.
